SHEER RIB KNIT BALLOON_HEM DRESS

Individually handcrafted from a combination of archived rib knit and other knit fabrics.

The piece draws inspiration from deadstock and vintage garments—particularly the irregular stitching and imperfect construction found in clothing made before modern production techniques became standardized. Although newly made, each dress is intended to carry a sense of familiarity and age. Subtle traces of the handmaking process are deliberately preserved, focusing on the quiet beauty of imperfection.

The sheer rib-knit body follows the form of the wearer, while the gathered hem curves inward to create a softly rounded balloon silhouette. The contrast between the lightweight, close-fitting upper body and the air-filled volume of the hem gives the dress a quiet, sculptural presence.

Although composed entirely in white, variations in transparency, density, and overlapping layers create a subtle contrast and sense of depth throughout the garment.

As each dress is individually made using archived fabrics, slight variations in texture, transparency, stitching, and overall appearance may occur. These differences are inherent to the handmade process and make every piece unique.

アーカイブされていたリブニットやニット生地を組み合わせ、一着ずつ手作業で仕立てたシアードレス。

デッドストックやヴィンテージウェアに見られる、まだ縫製技術が現在ほど均一化されていなかった時代の縫い方や、不完全さの残る佇まいから着想を得ています。新しい衣服でありながら、どこか懐かしく、長い時間を経てきたもののような質感を表現するため、あえて手仕事の跡やわずかな不均一さを残しています。

透け感のあるリブニットが身体に沿う繊細なラインを描き、裾には生地を内側へ折り込んでギャザーを寄せた、丸みのあるバルーンシルエットを施しています。身体に密着する軽やかな上部と、空気を含んだように膨らむ裾のボリュームが、静かで彫刻的なコントラストを生み出します。

全体を白で統一しながら、生地の薄さや重なりによって生まれる濃淡が、奥行きのある表情を与えています。

アーカイブ生地を使用し、一着ずつ制作しているため、生地の風合いや透け感、縫製の表情にはわずかな個体差があります。それぞれの違いを、ハンドメイドならではの固有の特徴としてお楽しみください。
